this is a what microsoft is currently working on.
it's called photosynth.
what it does is grab photos from flickr, say times square or something.
there's a point cloud model on the pc that's made up of lots and lots of
photos from flickr that fit the specific structure of times square. it's
tagged and different parts of photos are used to create a sort of 3-D model/tour
of times square. you can turn full circle up and down.
it could be from anywhere and any quality. for instance, a phone photo,
slr, digital, holga, polaroid, anything! even a poster in the background of a room in a photo.
